Optics

The field of physics known as optics is concerned with the behavior and characteristics of light, including how it interacts with materials and how to build devices that can either use or detect it. Visible, ultraviolet, and infrared light behavior is often described by the science of optics. Due to the fact that light is an electromagnetic wave, it shares many of the same characteristics as X-rays, microwaves, and radio waves.
